Steering Students
The Career Counselling Department at The Heritage School is dedicated to guiding students towards informed and fulfilling career paths. Throughout the year, we engage in a variety of activities designed to provide comprehensive support to students and their parents.
Key Activities
1. Group Career Talks
- group sessions for Classes XI and XII, ISC as well as IBDP, covering diverse career options and industry trends.
- Inviting guest speakers from various fields to share their experiences and insights.
2. Individual Consultation
- Provide one-on-one career counselling sessions to help students identify their interests, strengths, and career goals. We also help them send their applications, along with academic transcripts and letters of recommendation to various universities.
- Tailor guidance to suit individual student needs, including resume building, interview preparation, and college search strategies.
3. Parent Involvement
- Conduct workshops and seminars for parents to keep them informed about evolving career landscapes and how to support their children’s career choices.
- Facilitate open forums for parents to discuss their concerns and expectations regarding their children’s future.
4. Career Fairs
- Host national and international career fairs, offering students exposure to a wide range of industries and opportunities.
- Collaborate with educational institutions and organizations worldwide to provide students with diverse perspectives and options.
5. Alumni Interactions
- Arrange sessions where alumni share their career journeys, challenges, and success stories.
- Create networking opportunities for students to connect with alumni for mentorship and career advice.
6. Meetings with Professionals
- Organize meetings with professionals from emerging and established fields to give students insights into different career paths.
- Highlight new and unconventional careers, encouraging students to explore a broad spectrum of possibilities.
7. College and University Application Guidance
- Offer handholding and guidance throughout the college and university application process.
- Assist with application forms, personal statements, and preparation for entrance exams.
8. Awareness talks and orientation programmes
Multiple awareness sessions are held to make students aware of:
• the types of colleges and universities, and the eligibility criteria to get admission
• Courses and qualifications offered by colleges and universities
• Talks by outreach officers from various universities and colleges in India as well as abroad
• Masterclasses by professors of some renowned universities
