In Heritage we follow a 6-point programme: |
 |
Academics
The Heritage designs and implements its own skill and activity based curriculum
in the pre-primary, primary, middle and senior sections. In the secondary
section, although the syllabi are prescribed by the Council for the Indian
School Certificate Examination to which the School is affiliated, the courses
are adapted to our assignment and project based approach. We try to maintain a
teacher-pupil ratio of 1:13, and the students study in a caring and stress-free
environment that makes use of innovative teaching methodologies. All prep is
done in School under the supervision of the Class Teacher. If a student needs
help in a particular subject, the subject teacher sits with him/her and
clarifies all doubts.
Individual and House Co-curricular Achievements are celebrated. Prizes have
been instituted for Academics, Activities, Sports and for the all-round
development of the student. We have the Junior and Senior Study Cup, trophies
for the various team games, the
Victor Ludorum
for the best sports person, and of course the
Cock House Trophy
for the Best House.
i) Ankuran - Pre-Nursery, Nursery & KG
The philosophy behind Ankuran is "We play as we
learn and we learn as we play." Goals are set in a programme consistent with
the early stages of a child's development.
The strategy used is that the letters of the alphabet are introduced
phonetically and this leads to identification, recognition and reading. Various
activities are planned to reinforce these concepts. Teaching is thematic and
linked. Functional English is introduced.
The programme includes the following skills:
Linguistics, Creative, Numerical, Social/Interpersonal, Motor and Kinesthetic .
Thus, we hope to hone the child's intellectual, physical, cultural, artistic
and communication skills in a free and stimulating environment.
Children have breakfast together, and this helps in the development of social
skills.
