Scaling Horizons
In keeping with the changing needs of the global environment, we successfully launched the International
Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in the academic year 2012-2013. IBDP is a comprehensive and
cohesive international programme of education that prepares students aged 16 to 19 for success at University
and life beyond. Founded in 1968 in Geneva, the IB currently works with 3,301 schools in 141 countries and
has received wide recognition from various universities all over the world.
To make the transition smooth for students passing class X and opting for IBDP, we plan to introduce
the IGCSE (International General Certificate for Secondary Education) in class IX for the academic
session 2013-14.
This is a pioneering effort in West Bengal and we feel that with this new step of introducing the IBDP and
IGCSE curriculum, we will be able to enhance critical thinking, inter-cultural understanding and citizenry
amongst students and make them more articulate, adaptable and confident individuals, having a global
understanding of issues.
The desire for the pursuit of excellence is insatiable and with every new step taken, new vistas open up,
offering newer opportunities of exploration. In the forthcoming years, one aims to see the institution achieve
a position that would be at par with the best institutions of the world.
